Texas State Bison Restoration Project Goal:
To restore the historic Charles Goodnight Bison herd (The Official Texas State Bison Herd) to a portion of its former range here in the park.
Praire Dog Restoration Project Goal:
To restore a colony of native prairie dogs to a portion of the mixed grass prairie area of Caprock Canyons State Park.
Pronghorn Antelope Restoration Project Goal:
To restore a herd of native pronghorn antelope to a portion of the mixed grass prairie area of Caprock Canyons State Park.
Caprock Canyons Complex Restoration Project Goal:
To restore the park to its natural state, prior to European settlement (approximately 300 years ago).
Includes restoration of mixed grass prairies, rolling plains and native animals (ex: bison, prairie dogs, pronghorn antelope).
